Ever had a book that rips your heart to tiny little pieces until you left with nothing? Ever had a book that completely annihilates you beyond repair? Ever had a book that made you so emotional that you are reading while crying? Well, Spiralling Skywards #2: Fading made me feel all that. That book alone consumed and destroyed me. It is one of the books that will forever be etched in my heart, mind, body and soul. It is a book I will forever remember because it was such a special story from the heart and I fell in love with everything about it.
Spiralling Skywards #2: Fading is not just a story but it is beautiful piece of literature that was honest, emotional, heartwarming and so real. Yes it is fiction but it screamed realism through out because you are able to relate with the story so much. I am in awe. I devoured this book but the beautiful thing is that it affected me at a large scale. And that is what you want in a book. You want a book that still lingers in your mind. You want a book that affects you on greater scale. Spiralling Skywards #2 delivered that and more. I know Lesley Jones took a risk with the story but I loved that she did because it showed that she wanted honesty and a story that could impact you as a human being. I commend her for going with her gut because she produced a phenomenal book. She definitely took it to another level. I cried when I read Spiralling Skywards #2. I could not hold back my tears because the contents in the story really touched my heart so much. I was so emotional and I felt the my heart breaking most times. You know when its cold outside and it causes ripples and shivers in your body, well, this book gave me shivers and ripples to the point that I could feel it in my heart.
Lesley Jones really is a phenomenal writer. She putts her all in her stories and that makes her so talented. Yeah, this book might make people angry but she showed sometimes life is not of sunshine, roses and rainbows but there is something inside of us that plagues our souls each day. We each have that darkness that we battle each day. Spiralling Skywards #2 really touched me on a personal level and brought out a few things that I could relate.
Liam and Sarah are a couple that are real, honest and relatable. Yes you may feel their chemistry and get that they are an amazing couple but I loved it showed their struggles together. Sometimes you need to see that in a book. I loved that even though it is fiction. Sarah really touched my heart. She was going through what we go through as a woman. The insecurity, the doubt in your spouse, pressures of life and family struggles and it made me relate to her a lot. We all feel that in life. Liam as ever he was loving but here I felt a shift in him. He was busy more. Neglected Sarah sometimes but I loved he fought for her. I was disappointed in him a lot but I loved how he cared and provided for his family.
Spiralling Skywards #2: Fading was a beautiful, heartfelt and captivating story that touch me to the depths of my soul. It carried a beautiful message in the story. I cannot wait for Sasha's story.
Read Spiralling Skywards Book #1 : Falling TODAY!
It only takes one defining moment.
Sarah knows from the second she meets Liam that their connection is more than just instant attraction. It’s deep, it’s consuming, and has the potential to be the real thing. But true love comes at a price. Fuelled by Liam's past, Sarah's issues, and a messy web of family ties, business partnerships, and exes, the combined forces threaten to snuff out their new found relationship.
Will that spark be smothered by outside forces? Or will they be carried like smoke from the ashes and sent spiralling skywards?
Written in Lesley Jones’ usual heartfelt, witty, and emotional voice, this dual point of view story is just the beginning of her Spiralling series.

Wow, what a ride. Gangster Moll was totally an epic story. I mean this book had everything you could want in a mob story. Abundance of roller coaster drama and high action that had your head spinning. My head was definitely spinning but in a good way. Gangster Moll definitely exceeded my expectation and I was so blown away by it. Wow. Gangster Moll told a fast pacing story of love, survival, action and loyalty, not only as a couple but also as part of the mob.
Gangster Moll is the continuation of Gun Moll, the first book in the Gun Moll series. It follows the story of Melina and Mac as they navigate their lives in Cosa Nostra. I loved reading Gangster Moll. Damn, It was like I was watching my favourite drama movie. I was so pulled to the story that the story itself etched itself to my heart and soul. There was so much dream that had me reeling and causing a ripple effect. It was so exhilarating. I love a book with a huge dose of action that had my heart pounding and Gangster Moll brought out the action. The whole book was like a Telemundo story but an amazing one. Huge amounts drama, huge amounts of sensuality and passion that you are practically swimming in it and a back story that had mystery and suspense to give an edge without confusing me. I love that the authors each up the ante with the story. They definitely outdid themselves.
Melina and Mac are like the perfect couple. Their chemistry so believable but also it has trust and loyalty in it. I just love reading about them. Their POVs just give a unique dynamic and lets you get to know more about them. I love Melina. She is so strong, fierce, feisty and just so badass. I love that I always see a vulnerable side to her. She is a survivor and that is why she is one of those heroines that will happily change my sexuality for lol. Mac is so controlled. I love how he stands by for Melina giving her protection even though sometimes she used to taking care of herself. he is possessive and loyal to a T.
Gangster Moll was a phenomenal read. Omg, I loved it so much that I cannot wait for the third book. I know it is going to be one wild ride.

I am a huge fan of K. Bromberg, She wrote the Driven series, a phenomenal series that I absolutely adore. When I heard that she was going in a new route and doing something different, I was so excited. Sometimes it takes one different book from an author you love to really make you love her more. I irrevocably loved Sweet Cheeks so much. Sweet Cheeks is a swoon worthy, panty melting and heartwarming story about second chances, redemption and love. I simply fell in love with it.
Sweet Cheeks is a story that reminds you of warm summer nights, brightly lit moon, sugar sweet candies and cool breeze that gives you amazing tingles on your skin. It was simply perfection. I loved the storyline that I was so smiling through out the book. It was sweet. It was swoony. It was full of angst. It was an addictive read that pulled me in from the first page to the last page. I fell in love so deeply with it. K. Bromberg gave us an amazing and captivating story that moved and touched my soul. The amount of sexual tension in the book was so hot. I loved that there was a balance of plot vs sex scenes and I got to really understand the story better. She wrote a flawless story of love and pain that made my heart tingle in the right place. Sweet Cheeks was simply a magnificent that makes you believe in love. It was so beautiful.
Sweet Cheeks introduced us to Saylor and Hayes, Two characters I felt were so perfect together had amazing chemistry through out the book that you just could not help but fall in love. I was smiling at their banter, at their goofiness but they had heart which exploded and made me love them more and more.
Saylor Rodgers was a heroine who I loved. She was independent, strong and sassy. There were times that I actually felt so sorry for her and I wanted to give her big hug. In a way I could relate to her a lot. She is someone you would love to be friends with.
Move over Colton Donavan, there is a new alpha in town and his name is Hayes Whitley. Wow. I was swooning. Hayes is that hero that I wish could exist in reality because I will snag him and have babies with him. He was that alpha that made toe curl and my heart tingle lol. I want a guy like him. He was so loving and caring to Saylor. He was cocky without being a douche. Aaaa, I want him lol.
Sweet Checks was a perfect magical story that was candy sweet and panty dropping hot that this is K. Bromberg at her best. You should definitely read this book. Trust me.

Take my Dare is a continuation of Jackson and Sylvia. I was so excited that I was getting to read more on Jackson and Sylvia. They happen to be my favourite couple and I was so stoked to see what has been happening. I love J. Kenner. She is a talented writer and she always write books that I cannot help but fall in love with.
Take my Dare was such a hot novella packed with action, angst and drama. It was one of those novella that was a seductive guilty pleasure that I could not get enough. For a short novella, it definitely packed a punch. I was so captivated by the story that I devoured within minutes. The writing in this story as always was so impeccable. I was truly compelled by it.
I love Jackson and Sylvia together. Take my Dare really showcased Jackson's loyalty and protectiveness over Sylvia. I could not help but swoon. Jackson is that alpha that make toes curl and my body tingle. LOL. Sylvia truly was so strong and I loved that she did not let her past affect. I commend her for that. This couple will forever be the couple I just adore immensely. They have that special chemistry that is totally believable and addictive.
Take my Dare is definitely one of my favourite books of 2016.

Edwin Allen Mercer
I want them all to read my words. And they do. Every last blood-stained sentence, they've read and praised me for. They love the gore and violence, the realness. And I get a sense of power with it all because I know a secret: the victims in my books—they’re real and have all died on my table. And maybe that’s why the last book had such awful reviews. Murder is, after all, a dirty little thing. Some can stomach it. Others can’t. My answer to those reviews: find a woman to co-author with. To be the next pathetic character in my book. Pity she’s so pretty.
All I’ve ever wanted was to be successful as a writer so when I was offered the opportunity to co-author a book with my idol, EA Mercer, I jumped at the chance. He’s beautiful and a literary genius, but something about him makes my stomach knot. And maybe it’s my overactive imagination making my hairs stand on end when he walks up behind me.
After all, these wicked little words we’re typing are only fiction. They’re only fiction...

BT Urruela is a combat wounded amputee, Purple Heart recipient, contemporary author who has written both independent and traditionally published books. He is a RARE under 40 award recipient, Rockwood Summit High School and Rockwood School District Hall of Fame inductee, Co-founder and Brand Ambassador for VETSports, Ambassador for Tampa Sports Academy, People Magazine Tribute for Heroes winner, Cover Model, Motivational Speaker and Philanthropist.
At an early age, he began writing short stories having been inspired by reading books authored by RL Stein. His maternal grandmother’s bookshelf was filled with literature that inspired his young mind and cultivated his vivid imagination.
Upon graduation from high school, his desire to have a 20-year military career was cut drastically short by an improvised explosive device. Taking the life of his commander, and leaving the remaining four-team members badly wounded.
After careful consideration and multiple surgeries, he along with the guidance of his doctors made the decision to amputate. It was the only surgery he ever left with a smile on his face, as if a weight had been lifted. He struggled for two more years through 4-5 hours of physical therapy a day, five days a week to get adapted to his new prosthetic. He medically retired from the Army with high hopes. His focus on restoring his physical shape being the most eminent battle caused him to neglect his psychological state.
Meeting people was difficult and there were very few options for veterans to utilize that would stimulate friendship, and ultimately, allow communication barriers to be breached. After moving to Tampa, Florida, he co-founded the veteran community sports nonprofit, VETSports, with two other combat wounded veterans. It was their mission to change the way veterans transitioned back to civilian life through organized team sports, community involvement, and leadership opportunities.
After being invited to attend a photoshoot with acclaimed photographer Michael Stokes, he flew to California in December of 2014, with incredible excitement. His photos were so widely publicized that he soon gained exposure to the literary world like he had always dreamed of. That opportunity launched him into his present writing career. He co-wrote the novel 'A Lover's Lament with author KL Grayson. The following year he released first solo novel, 'Into the Nothing' and will be releasing Wicked Little Words with author Stevie J. Cole. He is now writing full-time.

He kisses me gently the first second, and then without apology, deeply, like the revving of a rocket engine, followed by the launch into space, and then I’m in a galaxy of pure bright stars and endless night, lost and weightless, warmed by a sun I cannot see, his mouth a hungry vortex, a delicious black hole, sucking me in.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!I have no words for Mr. President right now but simply be in awe of it. Wow, that was literally one of the best politically based books I have ever read. I was up until 3am reading Mr. President and I was left with so much emotion and basically flipping all the pages frantically saying, 'That's it'. I even yelled a bit because I was moved by the story. A few books do that to me and this book was one of them. I was amazed. I was even speechless. Mr. President was perfect politically charged story filled with scandal, romance and sexiness. I fell in love with it.
I have been a massive fan of Katy Evans. She is one of those authors I one click instantly with no hesitation. When I got Mr. President, I was so excited because I simply love her and the story grabbed my attention just like that. I was not disappointed at all. From the first page, I was hooked. I simply could not take my eyes of it. Everything about Mr. President was truly perfection. The story, the romance, the characters, the politics and the sex scenes were so phenomenal that it all just clicked. I found myself just simply getting lost in the book. It is so magical when a book does that to you. Mr. President was a powerful and emotionally charged book that simply dripping with drama, sex and politics. I found myself so captivated and mesmerized with the American politics portrayed in Mr. President. It was hot as hell. Mr. President was seeping with so much light that I found myself smiling throughout the book.
Katy Evans is a wordsmith. I freaking loved her describing scenes in her books. I found myself being transported into the world of Matt and Charlotte and I loved every moment of it. I was swooning. I was laughing. I was sad. I almost cried. Mr. President gave me so much damn emotions. I thought I was going insane. That's what so awesome because Katy Evans gave us powerful writing that I feel like it deserved to be given a massive shoutout.
I loved the characters. They were so dynamic and prolific. Oh Charlotte was a heroine I simply adored. She was sassy, spunky, fun, caring, loving and loyal. She was a hard worker. I just loved her. She was one of those heroines I felt so comfortable. There was a balance to her strong side vs her vulnerable side. Katy Evans definitely nailed that. Max Hamiliton. My Max. I freaking loved him that he has joined my book boyfriend club. I was swooning. He was sexy, swoon worthy(oh I swooned hard for him), cocky without being a douche, alpha (le sigh), and just pretty much so amazing. Max and Charlotte had the perfect chemistry that I just could not help but fall in lovw with. It was real, quirky and their banter was off the charts amazing.
Mr. President was an amzing read. I cannot wait what happens next.

I was a pawn.
Weak and someone easily manipulated.
To be played with as he saw fit.
YOU shone light in my now dark world.
It was YOU who made me smile.
For the first time in this game, I had hope.
All because of YOU.
The more powerful pieces on the board, however, were a threat to YOU and me.
They would win at any cost.
Two kings ruling with an iron fist.
Allies or opponents, it was hard to tell.
YOU promised to save me.
Told me we would win.
But then I was on the wrong side of the board.
This isn't YOU, baby.
And I don't know what to do.
The game is almost over and I'm counting on YOU.
This Isn’t You, Baby is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes, excessive drug use, and violence, which could trigger emotional distress, are found in this story. If you are sensitive to dark themes, then this story is not for YOU.
This story will make YOU smile.
This story will make YOU angry.
This story will make YOU crazy.
I hope YOU love it, baby.
Rating: 5+ stars
Warning: This Isn't You, Baby is a dark book. It contains scenes that will trigger. This is not a romance. If you are looking for a book with fairytales or unicorns or hearts and rainbows, then this is not your book. But if you like me, who loves the twisted and fucked up shit then this is your book. Read it if you dare.
OMG. OH MY BLOODY GOSH!!!!!!!!This Isn't You, Baby was just freaking mind blowing. Wow!!!!That was the most intense book ever on earth. Actually, the most fucked up book in this universe. I certainly did not expect my reaction over this book. I was rendered speechless. I was in awe. This Isn't You, Baby was not just a book but it was the book of books. A dark, twisted and beautiful masterpiece of a book.
I was up until 2am reading this book. I know I was going to get something epic. I got a piece of beautiful literature that was more than epic. My gosh, there are just not enough words that can do justice. I probably will go wow throughout this review. Plus, I don't want to say a lot because I do not want to risk spoiling it by mistake. Trust me, you are getting nothing from me. You just have to wait until October 25 to read it and found out. I am being mysterious. I know. But I want you as the reader to explore the emotions I felt reading This Isn't You, Baby. YOU ARE GOING TO FEEL ALL MKINDS OF EMOTIONS. I was an emotional mess to point I was punching a pillow with frustration. I was rolling on the floor crying my heart out. I was shouting and screaming like a banshee. True story. I was a mess. It was riveting. I could feel all of the chills all over my body and I knew that this book is just perfect. Tricked is my first book by Rebecca Zanetti. Wow, it was a different take on vampires and I loved it. I love paranormal romance and it is one of the genres that gives me a beautiful escape from the real world. I was blown away by the story. Rebecca Zanetti definitely gave me a beautiful escape into a very memorable and fantastic vampire story.
Tricked is about Veronica, a woman who is about to die from a poison. She asks Jared a vampire to help her by making her an immortal. Sparks fly between them but there is also danger that will come after them. I was in awe with this story. It was edgy and different. I am one of those people who read a lot of vampire stories. I liked that Tricked had a story that was fresh and unique. I completely fell in love with it. I was so captivated with the scenes that I devoured it so fast. I wanted more and more.
I loved the characters. Veronica was spunky, sassy and strong. I loved that he would not let Jared boss her around. It made her very likable character indeed. Jared was so bossy and alpha. I found myself swooning for him. He had a dominant side that was a bit cocky and fun. As a vampire, I loved his protective side for Veronica. Veronica and Jared had chemistry that was so lovable and believable. Their banter lightened up the story.
Tricked was a truly amazing book to read. I will definitely be reading more books from Rebecca Zanetti.
For now, he had to figure this out. “Why did you become a shrink?”
“I wanted to help people.” She wiped snow off her jeans. “My dad was a cop, and he said I didn’t have what it took.” She hunched her shoulders inward. “I guess I kind of wanted to prove him wrong. Plus, I have a knack for figuring people out.”
She had a knack because she was empathic. So she was driving herself so hard just to prove herself? That wouldn’t do. However, he liked that she wanted to help people. Smart, spirited, and sweet. That was her. He glanced at her, his hands easy on the steering wheel.
“What?” she asked.
“You’re very likable,” he said, taking a corner.
She blinked. Color tinged her cheeks. Her lips pursed. “Thank you.”
Yeah. The woman knew how to take a compliment. He liked that, too. Her scent of spices and berries wrapped around him, providing comfort with a jolt of energy. The idea that somebody wanted to harm her tightened his muscles. He’d never been a nice guy, and a battle was a battle, but he’d make the asshole who’d poisoned her bleed before dying.
He pulled into the back lot of the tiny restaurant. “You ever been here?”
She craned her neck to check out the innocuous brick building. “No.”
“Best pizza in the world.” He jumped out of the car and crossed to assist her. “Careful. The lot is icy.”
She nodded and allowed him to lead her through the back door. The smells of garlic, cheese, and pretty much heaven hit them both. She breathed in. “Wow.”
“Yeah.” He grinned. “You’ll love it.” Taking her hand, he led her through the hallways to a small private dining area and gave a nod to Theo before surveying the room. Ah, shit. Theo had brought Ginny.

Marriage Games by CD Reiss
Series: Games # 1
Release Date: October 25th
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Praise for Marriage Games:
"Marriage Games is a gorgeously intense story! Adam is my favorite kind of dominant...he lives and breathes absolute control." — Annabel Joseph, NYT Bestselling Author
That’s all Adam Steinbeck demands of his wife.
Thirty days in a remote cottage, doing everything he demands. After that, he’ll sign her divorce papers and give her complete ownership of their company.
That’s how long he has to rediscover the man he once was. The Dominant Master he hid when he fell in love with her five years ago.
She wants the business they built badly enough to go to the cottage for a month. Cut off ties to the world and do his bidding. She can submit to him with her body, but her heart will never yield.
She thinks this is his pathetic attempt to repair their marriage.
“Pull your skirt up.” I said it without acknowledging the possibility that she’d disobey. It felt good to use those words and that tone. To watch her eyes go to the floor.
“Trust me.” I said it so low she was just within range to hear it. “Five minutes. Then we don’t have to fight over the car.”
I stepped back and set my watch with a beep. It wasn’t about the car for her. The Jag was the least of her worries, but it was a tangible justification.
For the downcast eyes. For the way her breathing changed. Maybe every bone in her body was vanilla. Maybe not.
“Quit any time,” I said. “Just say the word.”
She laid her hands on her hips.
Curled her fingers.
Pulled up her skirt.
The tops of her thighs came into view then met at the crotch. I was hard already and made no move to hide it. She noticed and stopped moving the skirt.
“Higher,” I said as if telling her how to center a picture over the couch. Higher was where it had to be. It wasn’t a request.
Up it went, revealing cotton underwear in a pink so pale they were almost white.
“Now what?” she asked.
“How do you feel?”
“Weird, Adam. Really weird.”
“Because I’m standing here with my skirt around my waist? Because you told me to? For a car, no less, which is creepy.”
She was so honest. I ached for her honesty.
“You’re not obeying me for an object. You’re obeying me so I do something. Take an action or don’t.”
“You think that’s not weird?”
“No, I don’t. And we have four minutes.” I stepped forward. Part of her discomfort was in the physical distance between us. I’d stepped away so she didn’t feel threatened, but my gaze was keeping her from relaxing. I kept my eyes on hers. I could smell her perfume and feel the shortness of her breath. “Are you turned on?”
“Sex isn’t going to get me back. I’m sorry—”
Her initial shock and offense lasted only a second before she pressed her lips together and reached down, shoulders angling, hand thrusting as if checking to make sure her cunt was still there.
We have hundreds of bones in our bodies, and sometimes we won’t acknowledge the preferences of the ones that scare us.
“Are you wet?”
I gripped the edge of the vanity and put my lips near her cheek, millimeters from touching her.
“You don’t love me anymore,” I whispered. “But I could always make you wet, and you always came for me. Like our Italy vacation. In Florence. Coming back from that club, in the little alley. Against the wall. I ripped through your underwear.”
Her breathing got shallow and fast.
“I fucked you in the dark, and when you came, you screamed my name so loud all the lights in the apartments went on.”
“That was good.” She turned her face toward mine.
When her lips nearly touched me, I pulled away just enough. “I said I wouldn’t touch you.”
“I changed my mind.”
I wasn’t fooled. Her arousal was talking. I owned her. She’d do whatever I told her. But I wanted something very simple. I wanted her pleasure. “Take the juice from your cunt and rub it on your clit. Make it wet.”
“What’s come over you?”
“Do it.” I felt her arm move against me. “Rub back and forth. Be consistent. One-two-one-two.”
When I felt that she had it, I stepped back. She stopped. Her knees were bent slightly and her fingers had taken her cunt from the side of the crotch, not the waistband. She never ceased to surprise me.
“Is this your way of getting back at me?”
“One-two-one-two. Let me see you come. You’re so beautiful when you come. You’ve gone this far.”
Her body must have been able to override her mind, because she moved her finger again, closing her eyes. Her cheeks reddened and her knees bent more deeply.
“In Florence. An hour after we got to the hotel. I came so deep in you that night. I fucked you from behind with your leg up on the dresser. I wanted to thrust my whole body inside you. I loved you that much. And I gave up who I was. Last night, at the club, I remembered what I was. I was a man who was obeyed. I dominated women, and they submitted to me. The result was what you’re about to feel. Complete pleasure.”
She let out a long, low groan, leaning on the vanity, twisting. I could have fucked her right then. I could have bent her over the counter and pounded her. But that wasn’t the point. No. Watching her hand move under her clothes because I commanded it. That was the point.
An uh escaped her throat. Years of marriage had taught me that meant she was about to come.
My watch beeped.
“Time’s up,” I said.
Her eyes went wide. Her hand stopped.
“Thank you,” I said. “We’re done. I’ll send you the title to the car. You might want to pull your skirt down, since I can’t lock the door from the outside.”
It was hard to walk away from her panting, bent frame without tasting her cunt or even seeing more of her reaction, but I turned the corner, unlocked the door, and left the bathroom.

About the Author
CD Reiss is a USA Today and Amazon bestseller. She still has to chop wood and carry water, which was buried in the fine print. Her lawyer is working it out with God but in the meantime, if you call and she doesn't pick up, she's at the well, hauling buckets.
Born in New York City, she moved to Hollywood, California to get her master's degree in screenwriting from USC. In case you want to know, that went nowhere, but it did give her a big enough ego to write novels.
Critics have dubbed the books "poetic," "literary," and "hauntingly atmospheric," which is flattering enough for her to put it in a bio, but embarrassing enough for her not to tell her husband, or he might think she's some sort of braggart who's too good to chop a cord of wood.
If you meet her in person, you should call her Christine.

Rating: 4 stars
I love Sierra Simone's books. She combines taboo, kinky and passion into her books that I cannot help falling in love with you. When I read the blurb of American Queen, I was so excited. I said to myself that I had to read it. I was so stocked when I got the book but after I finished reading, my thoughts were so split up. I had to really think on what I felt about the book. American Queen was an truly interesting and unique book.
American Queen started off really well. I really loved the storyline of the book. It was different and that made me become captivated to the story. I did not expect to be so hot. And wow, it was so hot that I thought my kindle will burst into flames. There were some sizzling scenes that definitely made my ovaries want to explode. Sierra Simone definitely knows how to write a sex scene. She added so much sensuality and passion. American Queen not only had amazing sex scenes but it was kinky, taboo. emotional and so intense. I was pulled into the story. There were parts that were angsty and it gave the story an edge. However, there were parts that left me underwhelmed. I felt that a key facts needed to explained more. There was a plot hole that felt needed to be clarified that I got so confused. Some parts were so not necessarily to be added because they did nothing to the plot. I did love the storyline. It was perfectly executed. I was left wanting more.
In American Queen we are introduced to three characters who play a central role to the story. We meet Greer, Ash and Embry, who I felt they were different and unconventional. Greer was a bit weak for my liking. I felt she was a pushover and needed to be a bit strong. I did like that she was caring and loving. Ash, hmmm, a bit of an asshole. I liked him but he was a douche most times. But he made me swoon with his dominant side. Oooo, I would love him to dominant me. Hahahaha. Embry was actually likable but he needed to fight for what he want. He needed to speak up on his feelings.
American Queen was definitely intriguing even though most parts were underwhelming. Of course I cannot wait for the next book. I do want to find out what happens next.
“I kept thinking about what I wanted to give you today for our wedding day, and honestly, Greer, there isn’t really anything I couldn’t give you. Jewelry or exotic vacations or rare editions of the books you love, anything I could have dreamed of, I could get for you—but they were just things. I didn’t want to get you a thing for a curio cabinet or a jewelry box. I wanted to give you something that you could carry with you through our new life together. Something that would make you a promise.”
The best man’s hand brushes up against my stocking-covered ankle and I gasp.
“What is it, princess?” Ash's low voice comes over the phone line.
“Embry…I mean, Ash, I—" I can't find the words just then, because Embry’s hand slides up my calf and everything stops. My thoughts, my feelings, my guilt—my world shrinks to Ash’s voice on the phone and the fingers moving past my knee and Embry’s face, so controlled. But lust and anger and determination are fissuring across that control, and I can see his wide pupils and the pulse pounding in his neck and the trembling of his lips.
What is happening? I think distantly to myself. What am I letting happen…and all while I’m on the phone with my soon-to-be husband?
And then the world slams back into motion, and I make a strangled noise, stumbling backwards, away from Embry. He starts to stand and come toward me, and I hold out one of my hands, moving backwards until my back is pressed against the floor-to-ceiling window overlooking the skyline.
Embry looks down at my shaking hand and then back up to me, those fissures in his control now full-on fractures, and he says, “Greer…”
“Don’t test me,” I whisper, not sure if I'm whispering to the groom or the best man. “Don’t test me like this.”
This isn't happening. I missed a connection somewhere, misunderstood something vital, because there is no way, no fucking way, that Ash is offering his best friend to me as some sort of wedding present. This is my wishful thinking turned toxic, this is my darkest fantasies turning into delusion--
“I want you to let Embry give you my gift,” Ash tells me. “While I listen. That’s what you’ll give me in exchange: every single moan, pant and cry will be for me.”
“You can’t be saying what I think you’re saying,” I say.
"Oh, don't worry, angel. I'll get something out of this for me too."
I hear the dark roughness in his voice and I realize I'm so very, very wet.
“Close your eyes,” Ash orders.
I do, my panting somehow louder in my head when I can't see anything. The glass window against my back is cool and strong, just like Ash’s words in my ear.
“I know you’re wet. I know it like I know Embry is hard right now, just from the mere thought of touching you. You want it, don’t you? You want it so much that you’re shaking with the effort it’s taking to hold yourself back.”
“But I don’t want to hurt you.” It's my final plea, my final argument, my final grasp at some semblance of sanity. My skirts are almost up at my waist now, and I know the moment Embry catches sight of my delicate, hand-embroidered French panties because he takes in a sharp breath, as if punched in the gut.
“It all hurts,” Ash says. “It hurts watching you two watching each other. It hurts watching him with other people. There’s no part about this that doesn’t hurt, but what’s the alternative? Living without the pain means living without each other.”
