In this alpha-driven romance perfect for fans of Vi Keeland and S.L. Jennings, the price of one woman’s passion is everything she holds dear
Not everything dangerous is bad.
From the moment Angelina laid eyes on him, she fell into a fantasy. Mysterious, foreign, gorgeous, Haithem offered her what she needed most—a chance to feel again.
But Haithem is much more than he appears to be. He lives in a world of danger where everything comes at a price.
For Angelina, that price is her future.
He’s ensured the life she’s left behind is in tatters. Made her family believe she’s dead. He talks about protecting her, about keeping her safe, but she can’t distinguish his truth from his lies. She can’t separate her pleasure from his betrayal.
Haithem warned her. He told her he’d make her heart race, her body come alive, and her most primal needs rush to the surface. His for the taking.
He didn’t say she’d come to love the devil who’s destroying her, even as he keeps her prisoner.
My Rating: 3 stars
When I read the blurb of Didn't I Warn You, I was so excited that I decided to it. However when I started reading, I was a bit disappointed by it. This was my first book by Amber Bardan and I felt underwhelmed by the book. It was really a good book with a good plot but there were certain parts I needed more of.
Didn't I Warn You was an intriguing and mysterious book that totally gave me the chills I need in a book. It had the right dose of suspense that was both thrilling and enveloped while I was reading the book. Amber Bardan definitely wrote a good story with a slow build up that made me become so engrossed in the book. She is one talented author who wrote an undeniable and electrifying story. However I needed more dark in the story. It did not have enough darkness to elevate the story to another level. It took mea long time to fully connect with the story until halfway of the book things started to click. One thing I loved the most that there was enough sex scenes that totally brought the heat. I definitely felt it.
The characters of the book were interesting. Haithem was this mysterious and rich alpha male with such a dangerous and secretive past that gave him an edge. I was gripped by his charactetistics from the first page. There was just something extra sexy about him that made me become enticed. Angelina is another story. Whereas I liked Haithem, I did not like Angelina. I felt that she annoyed me a lot. I just wanted to shake her so she could wake up. She was sassy which I liked but I just could not feel her connection to Haithem that much.
Didn't I Warn You did intrigueand I definitely want to see how this series progresses
