Lexi Blake is one of my favourite authors of all time. I have been a fan of her books like forever. There is just something extra special about her books that make me so excited about. It is her explosive plots. It is her engaging scenes. It is her unique and awesome characters. Everything about her books always brings a classy and fully charged action that totally blows my mind. I am always in awe. Ever since I picked up he Masters and Mercenaries series, I have been addicted to all her amazing books. Revenge was another stellar book from Lexi Blake.
Dangerous. Wickedly Passionate. Magnetic. Revenge was a suspense filled drama that tantalized every single part of me. It was fast paced. It was addictive. It was a massive indulgent mystery that really exploded into my heart. I loved ever single part of this. Lexi Blake always add her flair of thriller into her romance novels hence giving them such an edge I adore. I become pulled in. I become gripped in. Just like Revenge, I was transported into the story. The edginess and dynamic of the story totally gave me life. I was so mesmerized with the story that I felt its power. And Revenge was indeed a powerful story with epic scenes.
In Revenge, we were introduced to Drew Lawless, the oldest in the Lawless clan and Shelby an energetic reporter, who had amazing and off the charts chemistry. There was banter. There was hot and cold emotions between them. But they had struggles and vulnerabilities together as a couple. That is what spoke to me. Yes it started out as a contract relationship but there was genuine love between them that touched my soul. Drew was such a controlled man. He was domineering and used to things done his own way. A man with a tragic past and flaws, he was commanding, possessive and sometimes vulnerable. Shelby was tenacious, strong, sassy and able to come toe to toe with Drew. She also had the caring and loving side to her. She was the perfect contrast to Drew.
Revenge has fully cemented on why I love Lexi Blake and why I am a true fan of her work. Looking forward to more Lexi Blake books.
“I suppose we’re going to be seeing Carly and Bran while we’re in Dallas next week.”
She had one week to get comfortable around Drew. One week to figure out if she could actually sell this cover to his family.
“It would seem odd if I didn’t pay them a visit. Bran knows I have a meeting with Taggart scheduled. We’ll be in Dallas for two days. Dinner with Bran and Carly and Mia and Case has already been planned.”
“Exactly. And you don’t want to raise a bunch of questions. So I was thinking it might be smarter for me to get my own hotel room. I can lay low and they don’t have to know I’m in town.” She’d sat up for a good portion of the night doing two things: thinking about how much she’d wanted to kiss Drew Lawless and then freaking out about it because that was a bad idea. Beware of billionaires with six-pack abs. It was her new mantra. Yes, she’d signed the contract last night, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t reason with her new . . . boss . . . partner . . . whatever he was.
“I told Bran you’re coming with me.”
This was exactly what she’d worried about. “You told him? I thought I would have more time. How am I going to explain this to Carly? I think she’ll wonder why one of her closest friends didn’t mention she was dating her future brother-in-law.”
“I’ve already explained it. We wanted to make sure it was real before we went public. It’s that simple. We met in Los Angeles. I contacted you. We went on a few dates and we’ve been talking a lot. You’ve come out to Austin because we’re contemplating moving in together. This is a trial run,” he said calmly, as though he hadn’t upended her entire life. “Also, I asked Bran not to mention it to Carly because you would rather tell her yourself. It was a safe bet Bran wouldn’t ask too many questions, but Carly will want to know everything. It’s why we need to get our stories straight.”
She focused on the words that messed with her life. “Moving in together? You told them we’re thinking of moving in together?”
“How else was I supposed to explain it when all your belongings arrive here?”
“What?” She winced because the words had come out in a screech. “I’m having your things packed up as we speak. They’ll be here in a few days.”
“Why the hell would you do that?” How was she going to get everything back to LA?
Drew relaxed again as though he’d already gone over this argument in his mind and knew he would win. “I wanted you to be comfortable. This is going to be a full-time job, and not a quick one. I suspect we’ll have to keep up our ruse for at least six months. Potentially a year. Also, that apartment you were living in was incredibly dangerous. Did you know it was recently condemned? The movers told me about it when they explained they were charging me extra for how fast they had to move. It’s scheduled to be demolished in two weeks.”
“What?” She stared at him. He expected her to live with him for six months to a year? Somewhere in the back of her head she’d been thinking a week or two tops, and then she’d go back to LA and work from there. Her apartment building was shitty and she was fairly certain someone cooked meth in part of it, but it was all she could afford. And it was solidly built. There had been no hint that anyone was planning on building in her part of LA. Gentrification had not reared its upscale, hipster head yet, so that left her with one very manipulative bastard. “Tell me you did not buy my apartment building and schedule it for demolition in an attempt to leave me with nowhere to go.”
He managed to look almost angelic in the soft light of morning. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

Once upon a time, I believed in fairytales.
But then he took me.
And he taught me that life isn’t a fairytale.
He is scarred. Broken.
A dark and wild thing.
His beauty is violent and his words are cruel.
His heart is a shadowed landscape where nothing can grow.
He tells me he could never care for me, and he proves it every day.
He’s destroyed my life.
He’s trained me to beg for his affection.
This prison is a place where sunlight doesn’t reach.
He taught me that hate is born in darkness.
And then he taught me that sometimes love is too.
Ever had a book that sucked you in and left you breathless? Ever had a book that completely drags you in the deepest and darkest edge?Ever had a book that completely questioned everything about your sanity? Beast was that book for me. A deeply rich, dark and foreboding modern retelling of a classic story. This book was just perfection. A. Zavarelli is one of my favourite authors and she wrote a truly fantastic book with elements of dark that shocked me to the core.
Beast was a book like no other. I was sinking deep with this book to point that I only thought about this book all the time. It was a cult classic of dark excellence that really gave me the chills from beginning to end. I was blown away. It was crazy. It was totally psycho insane. It was a dark phenomenal. It was gripping. It was intense. It was a beautiful chain reaction of epic proportions. Beast completely touched the crazy and dark corners of my heart. What a book. What a gritty and epic down right spiral of perfect craziness. It definitely took me for a ride. A. Zavarelli definitely wrote a super nova of a story with an exquisite flair. She outdid herself on a whole another level.
We meet Isabelle, a young and innocent soul and Javi, a very evil guy with a quest for vengeance. Isabella and Jav had that intense and chilling chemistry that not only excited me but it made my jaw drop. There was something thrilling about their thoughts and emotions together that sparked. Isabelle was so naive but there was strength to her that I loved. Javi is an insane anti hero. A beast of a man with an evil and dominant edge. But man oh man, I loved it. Damn. It kinda scared me in a way but a good kind of scare.
A. Zavarelli gave me an unforgttable mafia story but she proved that she can write just about anything. Beast is a testament tot that. All I can say is GET THIS BOOK NOW!!!!!!!
About A. Zavarelli
A. Zavarelli is a romance book junkie, cat lover, and traveler when plagued by intense cases of wanderlust. She likes all things chocolate, books that come with warnings, and putting her characters through hell.
Her tales have been known to flirt with darkness and sometimes court it unabashedly altogether. Revenge themes and tortured souls are her favorites to write and this gives her an excuse to watch bizarre and twisted documentaries in her spare time.
She is slightly obsessed with Theo James and funny animal memes. If you don’t mind these things, you should add her on facebook. Even better, make sure you don’t miss a new release by signing up for the newsletter below.
Title: Deep Under
Author: Lisa Renee Jones
Genre: Romantic Suspense
Release Date: April 17th, 2017
Rating: 3 stars
Deep Under is the first book in the Walker Security series, a spin off from the Tall, Dark and Deadly series. I have not read the series but I have read books by Lisa Renee Jones that I certainly adored. I haven't read her books for a long time and It was awesome to read her book again because she always give with some fast pacing suspense that will definitely get you mind reeling.
Deep Under was a nail biting, smoking hot suspense with so much angst and drama. It was edgy. It was addictive that I devoured it so fast. I was brought at the edge of my seat wanting to know what happens next. Lisa Renee Jones totally weaved a powerful intoxicating read that left a significant etch on me. However, I found myself not excited as much. I liked it but I did not love it as much. I needed more punch. I also felt that the story was definitely too rushed because there were parts were I wanted the story to slow down a bit. It would have been explosive with more suspense. But I will definitely will read her books because her books always deliver despite a few hiccups.
Deep Under introduced us to Myla and Kyle, a couple with honest chemistry that was red hot. I did not feel their connection as much because I needed more from the. I loved their banter and easy dialogue between them which I ate up. Myla was a headstrong woman with a vulnerability that added a special dynamic to her character. Kyle was the protective with a powerful skills that proved to be very effective. They were force together.
I enjoyed reading Deep Under. It definitely brought out a fire in me to continue reading books by Lisa Renee Jones.
Title: The Marriage Pact
Author: K. Larsen & Mara White
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: April 4th, 2017
Rating: 5 stars
Ever had a book that makes you breathless? Ever had a book that emotionally rips you apart? Ever had a book that makes you bleed out and drown in your own tears? Ever had a book that completely changes you both in and out? Well. The Marriage Pact was that book for me. When I read the blurb. I expected a book about single friends doing a marriage pact. Nope this book was full on tragedy and emotions. Damn, I was struck by it until I could every facet of it. The Marriage Pact ruined me. Utterly destroyed me from inside out. I am trying not to burst into tears as I write this review but the Marriage Pact really touched me on a deeper. I was left completely disjointed by my emotions. It was just magnificent hands down.
Based on a true story, The Marriage Pact gave me a story that pushed my emotions to the brink. A beautiful symphony of love. A poignant story of pain. The Marriage Pact touched me the corners of my soul. Real. Honest, Electrifying. Delicate. Sad. Raw. The Marriage Pact certainly showed the true facets of love. Unconditional love. True love. Everlasting love. The Marriage Pact gave a true reflection of that. This book caused a huge crack in my heart and deep hole that I do not know if I ever recover from it. It is funny because only one book has done this to me. It made me react in such a way that I thought I would need to be admitted to asylum. The Marriage Pact completely gave me the FEELS that I felt them on my skin and giving me a rush. K. Larsen and Mara White are a powerful duo in my eyes because their writing is just captivating. They breathed new life into a the story that I was left with a lasting impression. The way they developed the scenes to give me a journey into different facets of life was exceptional. I was completely wrapped up in this story.
The Marriage Pact introduced to Ryan and Jackie two beautiful couple with so much angst that captured me on a deeper level. I completely fell in love with them. To me they showed me true love conquers. They had real and honest chemistry that was just so much tenderness and yearning. I was completely spellbound. They frustrated. They made me smile. They made me cry. They touched me so much that I was so connected to them. Jackie has been through a lot. It left her so guarded. She was strong and brash but her vulnerability ate at me. I was so gutted by the way of life she wanted. She wanted to take care of her family and that made her loyal to a T. I got to relate because she reminds of all of us when we get hurt. We put up a wall so we do not get so close to people because we fear of getting hurt. Ryan was such a caring guy. Sweet, loving and just one of the good guys. He had a hero complex that I found sweet but also annoying at times. Ryan and Jackie to me are the couple who I believed had that love that transcended all love.
The Marriage Pact is definitely a book to read. It will definitely choke you up nut still give a story that delivers. This was my first book by K. Larsen and Mara White. I will definitely be reading more of their books.
I’ve sworn off men.
Famous last words, right? You’re expecting some epic tale of reluctant love and my dramatic change of heart? Well, you’re not going to get it.
I’m stubborn. And headstrong. And I’ve just survived the worst three years of my life. After escaping an abusive boyfriend to live in hostels and cheap hotels while I worked my way across Europe, I’ve come to two conclusions.
The first? Now that I’m back home, I’m going to squander my expensive culinary degree on a food truck that caters to the late night drunk crowd.
The second? I’m going to prove to the bastard across the plaza that my street food is better than his fussy five course monstrosities.
Killian Quinn might be Food and Wine’s Chef to Watch Out For. He might have a Michelin Star. He might have every food critic in the city wrapped around his too-large fingers. But he’s also pretentious and unbearably arrogant and the very opposite of me.
So he can keep his unsolicited advice and his late night visits and his cocky smiles. I want none of it. Or him.
I want the opposite.
My Rating: 5 stars
I got to say firstly, when I saw the title, I was so excited because there was just something so intriguing about the title. Secondly, it was written by a new to me author Rachel Higginson who I am so blown away by her words and also deserve a hard kick in the butt because I do not know why I haven't read this author's books at all. Not only was I impressed but I was forever touched by the story of this book. The Opposite of You was such a lighthearted book with a beautiful story that spoke volumes inside my heart.
The Opposite of You was a journey of life and love to me. It had something so special but still be able to transport me to its world. Splendor. Exquisite. Funny. Sarcastic. Honest. The Opposite of You held so many facets in its pages that I was gripped into the story until it touched me so deeply. There was a balance to it that had my gaze so transfixed to the book. It had so much laughter. It had so much feeling. It had so much delicate undertones throughout the book that held something strong and fierce in it. The writing itself pierced my soul. It was written with so much gusto and imagination that every single word was so enticing. It was like watching an artist paint a beautiful painting and you can see the beautiful swirls he makes while painting. Rachel Higginson's writing reminded me of that. The plot of book reminded me of my life as a chef. It transported me there and I found myself that I could relate and understand the story so much more. It was both exhilarating. There was also something raw and moving that dealt about abuse. It tugged my heart. Rachel Higginson brought out the feels.
The Opposite of You introduced me to Killian and Vera, a couple with so much passion, witty banter and chemistry that was both infectious and fun. I loved them together. There were times I was flat out laughing and other deeply moved by their spirit and affection and hate for each other. It was so pleasant. Vera was a young woman who went through a lot. I felt her pain. She reminded of me as a woman. I go through so much insecurities as Vera did. I go through uncertainty as Vera did. It made her seem real to me. She was vulnerable but she had a quiet strength I adored about her. Killian first started out as an ass. But I loved when he was asshole. However, I fell for him when he was protective, cocky, fun and just caring to Vera. It made me swoon so hard. I need a Killian in my life.
The Opposite of You introduced me to an author I will definitely be reading more of her books soon.

Author: Christine Monroe
Genre: Dark Romance/Suspense
We are not a fairy tale; we are more. We are stars colliding, violent and dark, but more beautiful than the sun.
Unbound is the first book I have read from Christine Monroe. It is also her debut novel. I definitely enjoyed reading it. There were parts I loved and also parts I felt I needed more. Unbound was a book filled with erotic and pleasure that certainly made my heart tingle in the right places.
Unbound is a book about Miranda, a young woman who has been through abuse and violence in the hands of her father. She seeks out Val Knight, a rich man who owns a club to help her. He proposes Miranda to be his for a month. But then form a connection together. Unbound totally consumed and compelled me on a different level. It had some dark moments that gave a different edge and also nail biting moments that had me on the edge on my seat. Sexy. Seductive. Emotional. Addictive. I was definitely drawn to certain parts of the story. However, I felt that some parts needed more depth. It took me a while to get into the story. Some moments were rushed thst I found myself losing attention. Although Unbound has some weaker moments, the book was really so interesting and so intriguing to me.
Miranda is a heroine that I truly loved. She was. loyal, sassy and sarcastic. She had an amazing combination of strength and vulnerability that made her such a likable character. Val Knight was a man on another stratosphere. He was dominant, alpha, harsh, cold and calculated. However, he had flaws that drew me in more. Miranda and Val had amazing chemistry that I could not help but fall in love with more.
Unbound is certainly a book that I definitely liked. The writing flowed even though there were some mistakes in grammar that I ignored. I definitely will be reading more books from Christine Monroe. I see that she has so much potential in her writing.
Blaire by Anita Gray
Genre: Dark Romance
Blaire is my first book by Anita Gray and wow what a book to be introduced to. Blaire was a fast paced and heart stopping book that had my toes curling and on the edge of my seat. I was just in awe of the book. It took me on a fantastic ride that I just did not want to get off at all. Wow. What an amazing book.
Blaire was a unique story that made my heart quicken. It was a dark romance book that was so effortlessly written and totally depicted the dark elements so artistically. I was so swept away by the story that only wanted to just live in the story. I was so blown away by the story that at times I was just so speechless. I was so drawn into the story that it started to consume in a good way. A few books make me react and Blaire made me react like a crazy person. To me that is a sign of a good book. I loved the intense moments in the book. Omg, there was such high charge intense moments that totally wrecked me. I felt these moments so deeply. They totally smashed my heart like a wreaking ball and I felt tiny pieces crack in my heart. I also loved that there were some light moments that clearly lifted the book to new heights. Blaire left me in a state of wonder and surprise.
All the characters in Blaire were so dynamic and each gave an extra edge to the book. I loved Blaire. She was witty, cold, calculated, strong, sassy and badass. I sometimes felt so sorry for her predicament. I loved that she was cold and calculated but you can see a trace a vulnerability that spoke volumes. I loved Charlie. He was alpha but I could see some love and care for Blaire.
I loved Blaire and cannot wait for the next chapter. I am definitely now a fan of Anita Gray.
