Genre: Mafia Romance
Type: Series. Return to Us Trilogy, Book 3
Rating: 4.5 stars
Remedy is the last installment in the Return to Us trilogy and what a ride this trilogy was. I mean, it was so fantastic to read and I got really to experience the relationship between Jacade and Ivy which was the main essence of the trilogy. After the cliffhanger in Rectify, I was excited reading Remedy because I wanted all my questions answered. M.K. Gilher once again nailed it.
Remedy is truly a captivating story. I actually took a long time reading it than the other two because I want to savor it because since it is the last book in the trilogy, it was so special to me. It was also bittersweet to me because the story lived through me and I am going to miss it. You know that feeling when you read a book for so long and there comes a time when the story has to end and you just do not want it to end anymore, that's what I got when I read Remedy. I just did not want it to end at all. As usual Remedy has hot action and scene that had me on the edge of my seat. The hot scenes were so hot that I was fanning myself. M.K. Gilher again truly wrote an amazing book that was so totally memorable to me. I was in awe. Every sentence soaked into me and every emotion poured out allowing me to just get lost in the book. I loved that.
Holy Smokes, Jacade was absolutely one of my favourite alpha heroes. I mean, everything about him was so amazing. Lol. I loved him. His dirty mouth, his possessive side and his sweet side were so mind blowing to me. He was the perfect alpha male. Ivy was incredible. I loved her badass and sassy side but it was also allowing to see her emotional side that made here so awesome. I loved this characters throughout all the three books and I am going to miss them so much. I loved these two characters a lot. They brought so much dynamic attributes to the whole trilogy and i thank M.K. Gilher for creating these two characters.
Remedy was surely the best ending to the trilogy and proved to be one of my favourite books of 2016. It was the perfect final installment to this epic story and truly a memorable story.
Title: Lies and Lullabies
Author: Courtney Lane
Genre: Mafia Romance/Gritty Romance/Suspense
Release Date: July 28
Rating: 5 stars
"The devil was cloaked in beauty to entice the sinner, and he was birthed from a pool of the devil’s temptations."
What can I say about this book. There are not enough words to describe how truly amazing Lies and Lullabies was to me. I mean I can go and recite the whole alphabet on how truly fantastic this book was. Like I said, there are no enough words to fully describe this book. I was so excited for this book because I have been waiting for this book ever since I found out about. My other burst of excitement is that this book was written by Courtney Lane, who happens to be one of my favourite authors and who I always look forward to reading because she writes books that are simply mesmerizing and stretch the scope of writing.
Lies and Lullabies was a completely different story from what I usually read and that was what I loved about it. I mean I am so used to reading books with sex scenes throughout the book that I was pleasantly surprised that Lies and Lullabies delivered a book that lacked sex scenes but yet delivered an intriguing and captivating story. I am not going to try not to spoil the book for you because I want you to full experience this amazing book. Trust me this book will literally have you on the edge of your seat. It will leave you guessing. What I loved more was the thriller aspect of the story. I was so totally engrossed. As always Courtney Lane always gives us a plot that has you thinking. I was pretty much shocked with the events of the book that they almost gave me 'What am I reading' look. Courtney Lane not only delivered on a unique story but she delivered a story that had depth and dark elements that truly made my heart pump so hard with excitement. I loved that Courtney Lane gave us a different approach to her story but yet still gave us a plot that I fell in love with.
Not only did Courtney Lane gives a mind blowing story but she gave us characters that were so addictive and dynamic. I usually say the characters make the book. Courtney Lane definitely delivered characters that truly were so magnetizing and so engrossing. I loved them Sugar was so interesting to me. I loved that she was strong and not a whiny characters. Although, there are times when I wanted to shake her to come to her sense and she did have some parts where I saw her vulnerable nature. Now Catch is another story, Never have I ever had a hero that loathed so much but just could not help falling in love with. He was dangerous. and a villain. His character was able to give me the biggest mindfuck. Everything about him was a mystery which added so much to the story.
Lies and Lullabies was truly an unforgettable and fantastic story that it has become one of my favourite books to read of 2016.
Author: Pepper Winters
Genre: Dark Romance
Type: Series. Dollars Series, Book 1
Release Date: July 20
Rating: 5+ stars
"Money was just money. Pennies added to dollars and dollars added to hundreds."
You know that feeling you get when an opera singer is at the end of a song and she just gives you goosebumps all over your skin or when an orchestra gives a chilling note that has you at the end of your seat. That describes the way I felt reading Pennies. Written by the Queen of Darkness, Pepper Winters, Pennies is a story that truly had me at the edge of my seat and gave me goosebumps. But heed the warning. Pennies is not a love story or a fairytale. It is dark and keeps you guessing. Read at your own risk.
I am not going to say more about Pennies because I want you as the reader of my review to simply go into this book with your instinct and just read. I will tell you that this book was simply a masterpiece. Pennies was truly that amazing. The way it was writen was so clever that I was so captivated and mesmerized by the story. That is what is so special about Pepper Winters. She writes a story that brings so much emotions that you become so engrossed in her stories that you become so shocked when you reach the end. To tell you the truth, Pennies brought out something so different and so dynamic that I was left with the look of disbelief and atonishment. Pepper Winters completely went out of the box and brought out a story that was edgy and filled with so much angst and darkness to the point that my heart was pumping. It was glorious.
Not only does Pepper Winters give out a unique story but she gives us characters that add so much depth to the story. Her characters bring so much life to her stories that you become so addicted to them. You will love Pimlico and Elder. They are unique and dynamic characters that you begin to fall in love with them as you get to know their story.
"And who I was at the beginning wasn’t a worthwhile citizen. I was shadows and gore and screams. I’d lost my honour, my family, everything that made me human."
Pimlico was so different than the heroines in Pepper Winters other books like Nila from the Indebted series or Tess from the Monsters in the Dark series. She had fight but it is her vulnerable nature that spoke more to me. I felt for her predicament. Her thoughts and feelings made me so sad. She was so strong and I liked that she was no whiny heroine but I did not like her naivety and trust in the wrong people. Would they become her downfall?
"He was a contradiction. A conundrum. Something fascinating I couldn’t figure out."
Now Elder was a hero I could not get a good read on. He was a force that will tear you apart from the inside. He was an enigma. He was dangerous but I just could not help falling in love with his character. He was so dynamic that even his thoughts were just so mesmerizing. I wanted to know more about him. He had that swagger that made my heart melt. I just loved him.
Overall, Pennies is that story that will make you make your lose your sanity. It will make you become so vocal throughout that you won't realise. You will fall in love with this book like I did. Once you read it, you will be changed forever.
Title: Erotic Road Trip Adventures 2
Author: O.M. Wills
Genre: Erotica/Ménage/Adult Fiction
Type: Series. ASNAD Series, Book 2
Rating: 4 stars
Ok so we are now on book 2 of the Erotic Road Trip Adventures and things start to escalate in this book. Yep, it was so mesmerizing to get to know more about the two couples. I mean, I was so captivated that I needed to know what happens next to Jay, Karman, Nate and Rayya. Of course I wanted to get to the part when these two couples finally succumb to their desires and decide to have mind blowing and hot sex. But this book to my amazement was just not about the couples' sexual interests. No, this book was more about the trials and tribulations to start a sexual journey like that. Moreover, it had you think about your own sexual adventures.
Have you always wanted to be in threesome? Have you desired someone more than just your significant other? Would you want to embark on a sexual adventure like that? Erotic Road Trip Adventures 2 gives us more details into the feelings and inhibitions of these two couples. I was so captivated by their thoughts. You actually could feel their ordeal and I was able to follow their emotions. I was in awe. I was so surprised that the author was able to gives us a plot that made us understand more of the characters. Unlike in Book 1 were we got to know about the couples hot desires. Book 2 was more of a what if. What happens to a relationship if they decide on such a arrangement? It wasn't like oh we have sex together and go on our merry way and things would be ok. No, this had to involve real feelings and I was happy that the author took the approach to actually give us something real to understand.
As I got to reading this book I was able to get to know the authors. Even though I do have my own conspiracy theories on the characters and this whole road trip the couples are having, I was able to understand the viewpoint and thoughts of each characters. You got to understand their fears on embarking such a sexual journey and also feel for them. I loved Jay and Karman more because in Book 1, they started so conservative and reserved but there was so much transformation between them. They were able to come out of their shells. As for Nate and Rayya, all I can say is that the couple are just fun people who I can have fun with lol. Plus I would want a threesome with them any day lol.
Overall, I am loving this series and I cannot wait to see what O.M. Wills has in store for us. I have a feeling this series is going to be an epic ride.
Title: Erotic Road Trip Adventures
Author: O.M. Wills
Type: Series. ASNAD Series, Book 1
Rating: 4 stars
Erotic Road Trip Adventures is my second book by O.M. Wills and wow this book was truly hot and definitely erotic. I do not normally read pure smut books and I try to avoid them but I was pulled from the start by this book. It certainly delivered on the goods. Try reading this book in the early hours of the morning and see what happens to you because damn the amount of sexual content in this was enough to cause my ovaries to combust.
Erotic Road Trip Adventures centers on two couples, Jay and Karman and Nate and Rayya. Jay and Karman are a couple who are reserved and conservative decide to take a trip from Bellevue to New York. They offer to give a ride to Nate and Rayya, a fun and outgoing couple. Little do they know that this couple are swingers and are attracted to them. This book was so mind-blowing hot. I mean, it started with both couples having amazing, hot and wild sex and damn I was just shocked. While reading, my jaw dropped because I was just in a trance. Totally did not expect that all. This book was more than just a smut book in my opinion but it was more of exploring one's sexual desires. I was in awe of this book. It had me bewitched from the first page to the last page. Although short, it actually packed a punch and gave a certain edge. I followed this story and I was able to sink into the book. I actually commend the author for actually giving me a direct picture to these two couples' world.
The characters were just perfect. I loved the author used characters of diverse backgrounds. There was a Jew, a Colombian, a Lebanese who each had so much dynamic characteristics that added so much depth to the book. I loved that each character in the book had different backgrounds that clearly made me enjoy the book. They were all so captivating and I was just lost in their world. I wanted more.
I truly enjoyed this book. It was fast paced book that had edge of my feet and I wanted to know what was going to happen next. It was totally different from all the smut books I have read thus I was able to really enchanted by the story. It is a quick read and as reader like me, I devoured this book so fast that I was even shocked. This is a book that you do not want to read in public at all.
Title: Hot Mess
Author: Madeline Antonia Rosenberg
Genre: Young Adult/New Adult
Type: Series. Tragic Love Series, Book 1
Rating: 4 stars
Wow what a book. I am still shocked at how Hot Mess ended and I am trying best to come up with an awesome review for this awesome book. Written by Madeline Antonia Rosenberg, Hot Mess is a charming and enjoyable read about young love and the consequences of young love in todays society. This book was so special and it captivated me. Let me tell you, I devoured Hot Mess like I was on crack and I wanted to find out more and more. I was not disappointed at all and found myself actually thinking about this book after finishing it proving it to be so memorable to me.
Hot Mess centers around four characters, Anna(the girl who loves being in relationships), Benji(the player), Trevor(the nice guy) and Tanya(the popular girl) as they each experience the trials and tribulations of life, young love and relationships. It was so ironic because this book reminded me of the times when I was a teenager going through young love and relationships. It was so reminiscent of those days which made me smile a lot I experienced every emotion with Hot Mess. It made me laugh. It made me smile. It made me cry. It made me even fall in love with the plot. I do not normally read YA/NA but I am so glad that I gave a chance on this book because this book was just perfect. There was so much. My gosh, the drama grabbed my attention and the angst in this book caused my heart to pump a lot. My eyes were just glued to Hot Mess and my only goal was to find out what happens next. Even the cover just grabbed me. The lone girl looking at the mess in her closet reminding us that the book is truly about the mess we create in our lives. Madeline really nailed by capturing the essence of the story.
As I believe the characters make the book. You can have an awesome story but have characters that suck. Not this book because the characters each had such a dynamic and central part to the story itself which I loved. The drama between the characters was just so well written. Some characters were awesome and I loved for example Benji. I loved him. Some characters I just wanted to slap them to their senses lol like Anna and Tanya. They needed a good beating. But I loved that the author was able to capture their insecurities and vulnerabilities to give an edge to the story. Although I got confused with the shift of characters and scenes, I was able to adjust as I got into their stories.
Hot Mess is truly a fascinating story and I am so glad that I was able to read this story. It was truly an awesome journey and I cannot wait for more from Madeline Antonia Rosenberg.
Author: James Crow

"Six was a diamond among gems, a truth among lies. Six was just perfect . . . and I was going to give her the fuck of her life.
Holy shitballs, this book was just hot as fuck. Hahahaha. This book made me so fucking hot like no other. I was so shocked at how amazing this book was to me. I think my brain combusted to oblivion. Or is it my ovaries that combusted. I do not even know at all but just know my body was going through some crazy shit while reading this book lol. Written by James Crow who happens to be a new to me author, I was just left baffled and completely dazzled by how this book made my senses hot and heavy. It was just amazing to read.
Emma Jane Winters is getting married to a man who she does not love nor tolerate at all so she fucks stable boys because her husband is shitty in the bedroom. Her aunt devises a plan for her to go to an escort service she uses for six days and enjoy hot, filthy and dirty sex with a hot man named Jonathon Gold. She meets Jonathan Gold and she indulges in hot sex with him. Sparks fly and feelings develop between them. This book was filthy. It was kinky. It was raw. It was beautiful. It had hot sex. It was simply crazy hot and I totally needed a book like this after reading a lot of romance books. It delivered the naughty. Its been long since I read a purely erotic book but I loved how different this book was. It had an interesting edge to it. The scenes. HOLY SMOKES!!!!!The scenes were jus hot and dripping with sexy goodness. I loved the BDSM scenes because I was able to push my boundaries to something different. I loved it so damn much. Plus this book got me thinking even after I finished it to point that it was memorable.
The characters were so dynamic. Emma Jane is a dirty girl. My oh my my she was so naughty and was shocked that she was willing to do all those filthy things. I feel like she was too submissive. I had a problem with that but I liked her soft nature. Jonathon Gold. YES. The guy who gives golden orgasms. He was definitely hot nut I hated how secretive he was. But he was hot. He can whip and chain me up any day. LOL. However, I did not feel their connection. I did not feel it was believable. I needed more.
Six is a sexy and hot book. If you need a book that will make you hot and heavy then you need to read this book and experience the naughty.
Title: Freight Trained
Author: Sarah Curtis
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 15
Rating: 4 stars
"You freight trained me, baby. Trampled right over me, stealing my heart."
Wow, this was such an exciting book to read. I mean I do not get to read contemporary romances these days and sometimes when I do read them, I just can't help but love the stories. I guess it is just that I am a romantic at heart and they make a smile a lot. Freight Trained is one of those books that just put a smile on my face and make me sigh in pleasure. It is written by Sarah Curtis who I know writes awesome romances that you can't help but fall in love with and I also I am huge fan of because she delivers romances that make you smile but yet have a certain edge to it.
Abigail O'Neal a shy and awkward woman, is tired of being a substitute teacher so decides to move to Jasper Falls after getting a full time job as a teacher. She wants to come out of her shell hence the move. She meets Coleman Garrison a former rodeo star and a horse trainer. Sparks fly and she finds herself attracted to him. He becomes attracted but he is hiding a painful secret and thinks he is not good for her. Does she act on her attraction? Does Cole act on his attraction regardless of the painful secret he is hiding? I liked reading this book so much because it was so easy to read. It was not complex and just told the story without any confusion at all. This is my first cowboy story and I was so amazed at how much I enjoyed it. Freight Trained was not overly cheesy like you find in some romances. There was a certain edge to it which I enjoyed. I also liked the suspense of it that got me to the edge of my feet. It was actually a surprised that the author was able to pull of the suspense factor into the story without disturbing the whole plot to the story.
"So to answer your question, there is no you and me, we are now an us."
I totally loved the characters and the fact that the characters had awesome chemistry that was both believable and not forced was a true positive. Abigail was so shy and awkward and kind of felt sorry for her but I loved throughout the book, she was getting some confidence. I loved her transformation from shy to a confident, loving and strong woman. Cole truly surprised me as a character. He was so alpha. I even melted and thought myself that I wanted a guy like him. He was caring and I loved his overbearing dominant side. But what I loved more and what drew me in more was his vulnerable side and I really felt his pain. I wanted to hug him. It was so heartbreaking.
Overall, Freight Trained was such an awesome read. A perfect and lovely summer read that you will truly enjoy and fall in love with.
Title: Blood to Dust
Author: L.J. Shen

“She’s mad, but she is magic. There’s no lie in her fire.”—Charles Bukowski
You know when you read a book and you feel a certain hype about it or it just makes you feel so giddy inside then you know you are reading an awesome book. Blood to Dust gave me that feeling. I have been waiting to read this book and when I got my hands on it, I just could not contain my happiness. To make matters interesting, this book was written by L.J. Shen who I started to stalk relentlessly after reading Sparrow which became my favourite book from her. Blood to Dust surpassed my love for Sparrow and became my now favourite book from L.J. Shen. It captivated me from start to finished. I was truly in awe.
"This is the story of a boy and a girl fighting storms and trying to find peace in the most unexpected place."
Blood to Dust is about Nate, a former prisoner, who is tasked by Godfrey, a drug lord to keep Prescott a woman for a month as a way to pay a debt owed to him. More like babysit her for a month and then hand her off. Does Nate hand her off to Godfrey? Do they get attracted to each other? I am not going to say more about Blood to Dust because you need to experience this amazing books without spoilers. Experience the Grit. Experience the Action. Experience the Dark. Blood to Dust was beyond amazing. I mean the sheer amount of plot that was written in this book was so beautifully constructed. It was like watching a music conductor conducting a beautiful symphony. It was just purely effortless. I was magnetized by everything in this book.
L.J. Shen is pure genius. I bow down to her. She is so talented that all the scenes she writes in her books just click. Who knew that she would write a book that was just different like any other book or that she gave us a plot that was beyond our wildest dreams. She is just simply brilliant. Everything in Blood to Dust was just mesmerizing. From the dialogue to the plot to the sex scenes, Blood to Dust was so captivating. It was so good that I was so addicted to it to point that my eyes were glued to the book. I was up all night and all I wanted to read this book. It was beautifully dark, gritty and suspenseful and I just could not get enough of it. Not only was Blood to Dust so intense, there was some lightness in the book that had me smiling and laughing. I could not contain myself. It was just awesome and unique.
"I used to be a sister, a daughter , a girlfriend and a friend. A poet, a dreamer and an honor student. But now. . .now I’m alone, left to fend for myself, with no one to look out for me."
Prescott was just such an amazing heroine. I always look forward to L.J. Shen's heroines because she writes badass, sassy and strong heroines. Prescott was that heroine. I was in awe of a strength and that she was not intimidated at all. I loved her. I even loved her sarcasm and jokes that made her such a lovable character. The situation she was in sucked as hell and I felt for her more.
"She’s hurt and broken in her own , fancy-ass country club way. And I’m hurt and broken in my own, broke-ass ghetto way."
NATHANIEL EFFING VELA. Be still my beating heart. Lol. Yes. Nate. The man who for stole my heart in this book. The man who had my heart pumping. Hahaha. He was explosive. I mean BOOM, there is Nate Vela. I loved him. So flawed. So intense. He had my heart from the start. Move over Troy Brennan, I got a new love. He was so secretive and commanding but I fell in love with his soft nature which was a surprise that he did care. He made me swoon so much. Plus Prescott was so damn lucky. Kind of wanted to hate her. She got ploughed by Nate lol. Don't ask me what plough means lol.
Prescott and Nate were so amazing together. There had so much chemistry and loved them together.
Overall, Blood to Dust was just bloody fantastic and proves to be my favourite book of 2016. I can't wait for what L.J. Shen has in store for us. I know she truly blew me away with Blood to Dust.
Title: The Last Valkyrie
Author: Jennifer Sage
Genre: Paranormal Romance/Fantasy
Type: Series (Cliffhanger)
Rating: 4 stars
The Last Valkyrie is my first book I have read from Jennifer Sage and I was actually amazed at how I loved this book. I wanted to not like this book but I just fell in love with the story and of course I was just intrigued by the mythology and I wanted to find how the author would use the mythology to the story. Trust me this story truly grabbed my attention that I was actually surprised at how I enjoyed this fantasy tale of danger and action. This was no ordinary paranormal story. It was actually different and I loved every moment of it.
Kara is the last Valkyrie and she has to somehow save the world by releasing Odin's warriors before the end of days. With help from Zane, a dragon king and Rune, an elf king, she has to defeat forces of evil and unlock her power. I cannot really say what this book is about. All I know is that you have to read. You have to open up and actually see how special this book is and I do not want to ruin the moment for you. I loved this book because it kind of reminded me of Game of Thrones, Thor and Lord of the Rings which happen to be my favourite shows so I was actually excited that I could depict influences from the shows. It also reminded me of the times I was so into mythology and thus becoming so prolific and memorable to. Jennifer Sage truly wrote truly an inspiring and a captivating story that evoked both culture and history.
The characters were so addictive. I loved all their special dynamics. But to me the main character of this story was Kara. I loved how strong Kara was and how fearless she was. Yes she started out a bit naïve but he was totally a character that has so much and realness to her. I truly was impressed about that. I loved how she interacted with Zane and Rune and they were moments I found myself laughing.
However, a small problem was that it took too long for me to connect with the story. I was a bit confused from the start of the book and would have wanted a few things more clear but this was truly a fantastic read. Judging by the cliifhanger, I cannot wait for book 2 because I do want to know what happens next to Kara.
